Pursuing a Ph.D. at New York University and working as an Assistant Professor at UNC-Chapel Hill were life changing experiences for me professionally and personally. The research I conducted and the classes I taught for more than 1o years were seminal in helping me discover my full potential. They made me aware of my ability to think big and make an impact on others.
Two books and several articles later, I decided to part ways with academia and went on to work for several business schools where I interviewed, evaluated and interacted with hundreds of mid-career professionals across a wide variety of functions in the private sector.
My insight into the synergies between academia and private industry, combined with my knack for helping people put their best foot forward, inspired me to launch Academic EQ, a career consulting service focused on helping Ph.D.’s thrive beyond the walls of the Ivory Tower.
As an MBA Consultant for the past 5 years, I have helped hundreds of career changers draw a direct line from their past to their future.
I can do the same for you.
Philippe went especially above and beyond on the preparation for interviews. He was largely instrumental in helping turn my C.V. into a resume that truly represents who I am. And most of all, Philippe truly CARES, which was a radical change from what I had experienced in my department.
Philippe knows what employers in the industry are looking for. He’s met them, seen them, knows how they talk and what they want. And best of all, he made me feel good about having a Ph.D. and showed me how easy it is to capitalize on it.
Navigating the alt-ac job search can be very intimidating, and Philippe provided exactly what I needed to get started. On top of answering my numerous questions (sorry!), Philippe was always extremely proactive and brimming with great ideas.
You gave me the tools to look positively at my future and prepare for new possibilities I’m now excited about. I know I would not be in this position without your kind help. You really boost my confidence in the whole process and I hope to one day repay the incredibly positive impact that you have had on my life. Thank you!
